My journey

In January 2019, I froze my eggs in Cape Town, South Africa. Attracted to the region by the world-class medical care, the beneficial exchange rate, the amazing city and family in the area, I spent two weeks in Cape Town working with Reneu’s medical partners at 20% of the cost of the procedure in the USA.

After sharing my experience with friends in the US, a number of them were interested in learning how to have the same experience, and Reneu was born.

Reneu is a women’s health travel company on a mission to help women access fertility treatments abroad.  Founded by a team with 20+ years of experience in luxury travel, fertility treatment and wellness, the company’s first focus is fertility preservation wellness vacations in Cape Town, South Africa.  Founded in 2019, as a result of the team’s personal journey with fertility preservation, Reneu is based in New York, NY and Cape Town, South Africa.

I couldn’t afford to freeze my eggs in New York, so I looked for another option. My sister-in-law is from South Africa so I did some research and uncovered it is 1/3 the cost for treatment there. I caught a direct flight from New York and spent 2 weeks in the most beautiful, healing city in the world. I also met my now-husband Justin on that trip (on Bumble!) while also working remotely and getting world-class medical treatment, all for less than what I would have paid in New York.
